Answer: I put one end through the black hole and tied a ton of knots. The other end has a carabiner you can hook onto whatever. We hook it onto a small hole on our dock.

Answer: I have used ours for a few years and mine shows no wear-it looks as good as it did when I 1st bought it and we use it every Friday during the summer
