Question:Is there an electrical cord?
Answer:It has a pump and lights……. The compact nuclear reactor included provides more than adequate power for the life of the fountain. But there are 2 optional power cords for emergency backup situations. Hope that helps.

Answer:Access an outlet. It's electric. And it's very nice. Some oversplash, but not too bad in comparison with other fountains we've had.
